MIDDLE SCHOOL Field Trips This Week

We love having the opportunity to take our learning out into the world during this time of year, and are planning a handful of outings for the middle school group next week. Please see below for details.

Tuesday & Wednesday: Short trips will take place during our joint Science and Humanities "Living Landscapes" unit, and we'll be out of the building from around 9:20-11:05.

Ron and Gabe plan to split the middle school into two groups. One group will join Ron in the Bald Hill woods for tree identification work, invasive removal, and some light trail maintenance. The other group will join Gabe on a walk into Bellows Falls to view one of only two petroglyph sites in the state of Vermont. On the following day, the groups will switch.

Thursday & Friday: Field trips are part of our annual special grade group programming. On Thursday we will visit the Vermont Institute of Natural Sciences (VINS) up in Quechee, followed by exploring Quechee Gorge.

On Friday we plan to visit the Brattleboro Museum & Art Center, followed by mini golf in Dummerston.

Both Thursday and Friday we will leave Compass promptly after breakfast (9:20) and return in time for 3:15 dismissal. Students have signed up for bag lunches for both days, though some plan to bring their own. Chaperones will include Ron, Gabe, Kellie, Nicole, and Cora.

Please contact any of us with any questions.

Thank you!
