Trimester Exhibition on Thursday (11/16)

This is a reminder that we are planning to display an exhibition of student work from the first trimester here at school on Thursday, 11/16 from 3:00-4:30pm. Families are invited to come by to view the work that students in all grades have chosen to display.

We are asking each student to share one piece of work or learning experience that they take pride in from this fall. This is an informal, gallery-style exhibit, so no need to RSVP, just show up and enjoy the variety of work and the chance to connect with teachers and other parents. We hope to see you on Thursday afternoon!

The junior class international global connections trip is an annual event that gives our students real and memorable experiences in the world outside of rural Vermont, The United States, and North America. The running tradition is to visit and explore a Spanish speaking country to bolster our world language curriculum; the best way to learn a language is through immersion.

Never been to BINGO at Compass see more information here!

College Day for Grades 9-12

This Friday, 11/3 is our annual College Day for our high school students. The purpose of this annual tradition is to help students appreciate the many different options for continuing their education beyond high school.

Each year, we visit a different college or colleges to get a sense of their programming and campus life. This year, we will visit New England College, a small liberal arts school in Henniker, NH.

The schedule for the day will still be 8:25am to 3:15pm. After breakfast the bus will take the high school to New England College for an admissions presentation, walking tour, and lunch (provided by the college) before returning to Compass by the 3:15pm dismissal.

Middle school will operate as normal, students that day at Compass will have a mix of regular classes and a few fun opportunities.

Please contact me or Kendra with any questions. Many thanks!

Petroglyph Trip This Friday (10/13) for Middle School

Just a quick note that the middle school plans to walk into Bellows Falls to visit a prehistoric petroglyph site as part of our humanities curriculum this Friday, 10/13.

We plan to be out of the building between 9:30-11:00, chaperoned by Gabe, Ron, and Cora.

We had hoped to take this trip two weeks ago but had to change plans because of rain. Please let me know if you have any questions; thanks!
